Truxor Turns Heads at Egypt Mill

JPR Environmental is currently carrying out desilting works at Egypt Mill, helping to remove accumulated sediment from the waterbody and improve its long-term condition.

Using our Truxor amphibious machine, built-up silt is being carefully removed and pumped into specialist dewatering bags positioned within skips for containment and removal from site. This approach allows the silt to be managed efficiently while helping to minimise disruption to visitors and reduce disturbance to the surrounding wildlife.

The project has also attracted plenty of interest from visitors to Egypt Mill. Team members have reported that customers enjoying a coffee overlooking the water have been stopping to watch the Truxor at work. With only a handful of these specialist machines operating in the UK, it’s not something many people get the opportunity to see up close.

Desilting plays an important role in maintaining water quality, improving flow and preserving the long-term health of aquatic environments. By removing accumulated sediment, the waterbody can continue to function effectively while supporting local biodiversity.

Works are progressing well, and the project highlights the importance of selecting the right approach for each site. At JPR Environmental, we work closely with our clients to develop practical, cost-effective solutions that take account of the site’s environment, operational requirements and available budget.
